I would never have thought about taking Harper out this much when he was so young.
I'm really wanting to have a flexible baby, that sleeps most places. We taught Harper to sleep in his cot and he does really well, but he never slept in a pram or in my arms. I think part of the problem was I never left the house enough. So this time around I'm trying to make sure I get out. We are still waiting on the GT double city mini pram. I've just been using the Ergo baby carrier. I love it, so does Charlie. She spends the most of the time sleeping curled up listening to my heart. It has a great sunshade and doesn't hurt my shoulders like our old baby Bjorn did.
I'm also being really brave with breastfeeding in public this time, I enjoyed breastfeeding Harper but being a first time mum I lacked confidence. I spent a lot of time feeding under a blanket or in a smelly parents room. Today I fed in the busy food court, I didn't care if some people stared or gave me a funny look Charlie was hungry and crying so I fed her. It felt good not to worry about what other people think.
Not much else going on around here just lots of cuddles, feeds and even more dirty nappies.
she is beautiful! Finally after four babies I BF for the first time out at dinner with John a cpl weeks ago. I agree it was nice not too care. I don't have time to care these days and BF everywhere... it's just more convenient :)
ReplyDeleteshe is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteone of my biggest fears/curiosities about having a second is how the heck life goes on with a newborn... but this post kind of answers that & confirms that it DOES go on. the newborn just comes with you :)
Kristy!! CONGRATULATIONS!! She is perfect and beautiful! And I absolutely ADORE her name!! I hope Harper is doing okay with her...that is truly my biggest fear with having baby #2...how Ellie will take it. Hang in there momma, and I hope you get some sleep sweetie!!
ReplyDeleteThinking of you! {big hugs}

p.s- I am totally with you on taking her out everywhere...we did the same thing with Ellie that you did with Harper...trained her to sleep in her crib...and to this day, she will NEVER sleep anywhere else. Not in the stroller, in the car..nope, just her crib. I am going to force baby #2 to learn to sleep EVERYWHERE we go! :-)

That new baby is precious!
ReplyDeleteWe are neighbors on TBB - so I thought I would say Hello!
Hey! I found your sweet blog today through Kyna @ Great Expectations! I can totally relate to your baby not sleeping anywhere but his crib.. we trained our son Cruz (he's 8 months old now) to sleep soooo well at home, but i hear ya about the challenges of getting him to sleep anywhere else. I didn't leave the house very much with him either. I hope that Charlie (LOOOOVE that name, by the way!) will learn to sleep wherever!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to following along!

Congratulations! She is beautiful! I first started following your blog about 6 months ago because we were both about the same amount pregnant and with little boys already. Well I'm due in 2 weeks so you must've been a bit early? But anyways, I'm so happy to see that all is well! Go you on the bf'ing in public. And that last picture? it's just darling.
ReplyDeleteI never get tired of looking at beautiful newborn pictures. Charlie is so beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, if you aren't too sleep deprived in between late night feedings, I've tagged you in my most recent blog post for a fun little Q&A....
Congrats to you! Charlie is so perfect. First time visiting here from WW. Isn't it crazy how much bfing in public the second time around is so much easier? Welcome to being a mom of two!! :) It's so much fun and a whole lot of crazy.
